Credit.com's
mission is to help consumers make better financial decisions giving them access to financial literacy tools and information; after all, credit is the foundation of our financial lives. For years, lenders, landlords, and insurance companies have used credit to make important decisions about us, but the process has been a mystery for consumers. We want to change that. We created the Credit Report Card based upon the following beliefs:
  1. Credit is one of the cornerstones of our financial lives, but more than half of American consumers have virtually no idea what their credit score is, what drives it, and how it affects their lives.
  2. With the Credit Report Card, Credit.com can give consumers a simple and transparent view into their credit with the hope that more of them will start managing their credit like a portfolio, similar to how many of us manage our savings and investments.
  3. Ultimately, we hope the Credit Report Card will affect a complete shift in the way we use and understand credit.
