Is it against the law for a landlord not to rent to you because you have a bad credit score? If so, how bad does your score have to be?

It’s not illegal for a landlord to deny your rental application because of your credit or credit score. That’s why they pull your credit information: to determine if they want to rent to you or not. It’s perfectly legal for them to use your credit in this way (it's called "permissible purpose"). There is no set score. Landlords determine their own qualification standards. Also remember that the decision is based on more than credit scores alone.
