A new loan scammer appeared on the horizon today. Our victim reports that they asked for an "insurance payment" of $540 for a $5,000. Luckily, she saw one of our posts about loan scams and stopped before sending them any money:
Their phone number is 1-800-847-4307 and they asked for collateral in the form of a home completely paid off, a vehicle paid off 4 years or newer, or a payment of $540 to the insurance company to insure my loan of $5,000. I tried searching the Better Business Bureau and could not find the company listed. I admit I have bad credit, but do not want to lose money.
Here are the loan scammer details:
Fake lender website: www.loanunion.net
Fake insurance company name: Intel Insurance Company
Fake lender phone number: 1-800-847-4307
Fake loan offer: $540 insurance payment for a $5,000 personal loan.

This is a very larg scam!! I was contacted by a rep from this company and i was a victim to this scam. WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT ..I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!! They will promise you that this legitimate and that it is not a scam!!
I wanted to check to see if these two companies are for real or are scam artist.
Thanks so much for your help.
I want to check and see if this company is legitimate or not. I don’t want to loose any money. Just can’t afford to.
they are also under metro wide lending group
They are a scam… its clear there are soo many questions surrounding their legitimacy that they can’t be real…
They wanted $800 upfront for a $5000 loan, sounded to good to be true so we started researching and found this website,,Thank you for saving us from a huge mistake!!!
HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF US CREDIT LENDERS?
Yes, I was contacted as well. they asked for over $800 to secure my $5000 loan. I asked if they were listed with the BBB and he said that the BBB requires a $20000 membership fee and they simply cannot afford it. i got really suspicious and I checked them out and they are listed under loanunion and they have numerous complaints…SCAMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not fall for it!
I went to loan union.net then someone from Silverfield financial group contacted me about a 25,000 dollar loan which required a 2500 dollar deposit to secure I did not bite, it sounds good, a little to good, sounds like the same scam. I was given this number 800-627-6189 and this web address http://www.silverfieldfinancial.com please check it out thanks Tony
I got a call from silverfield financial group…$881.41 payment for a $5000.00 loan…sounds fishy, is it a scam??
Yep! That is a scam. Do not send them any money.
Thanks a million!!
I found loanunion.net searching the net for personal loans. The site looked totally legitimate, so I proceeded to fill out the app. I received a call this evening from an unknown number, I don’t answer unknowns. The caller did leave a voice mail, so I listened to a “Mike Watts” who claimed to be from “Weston (or Westin or Westend) Lending Group”. His message proceeded to tell me how I had applied for a personal loan for $5000.00 and was approved. Times are hard right now so you can imagine my glee. I quickly returned the call to a 1-866-416-7276 ext. 176. I introduced myself to “Mr. Watts” who then proceeded to put me on hold 2 or 3 times. He then went on to tell me I was approved for a “secured” loan and the terms and that all I needed to do was send them $800.00 which was how I could “secure” the loan and that would equal 5 months of payments, so my first payment wouldn’t be due until Jan 2010. I was skeptical initially when he said I got the loan at 7%! I don’t have the best credit, that was hard to believe. I then asked if they’d send me paper work or what. He answered oh yes, I can fax you all the paperwork (loan documents) via fax tomorrow. I work for an attorney and am fully aware of scams. I discussed the situation with my husband who was immediately skeptical. Which led me here. Thank god! I feel for the people who have followed through with the terms and are left hanging. I thank everyone who posted their run in with this place!
I applied for a loan with loanunion.com and a rep. from silverfield called and left me a message to call 800-672-6189 ext. 347. James said that I was approved. I looked at their website and too tried to find them with the BBB. I remember reading an article stating that if any lender asks for money – then they are a scam. I then found this… I have poor credit due to past poor credit choices and am trying to rebuild credit. Thank goodness I didn’t bite.
I also got called by Silverfield Financial and the same set up was what I expirienced. 1800-627-6189 some man by the name of Robert Kerrie ext 613 from NY. Offerd me a loan for 10,000 dollars however I had to pay my first 4 payments and didnt have to pay nothing till november. I KNEW THEN IT WASNT TRUE SO PLEASE DONT FALL FOR IT.
Just received a call from Loan Union saying I was approved for a $5000.00 loan. The 7% loan rate was too good to be true. Plus the request was for (6 pymts of $155 up front. If I could afford to pay $930 before hand then I don’t need a loan. Plus the application did not request enough identifying info (SS#, bank info. etc)
DEFINITELY A SCAM!! Watch out for Western Lending Group!!
I am trying to find out what is going on with this weston lending group. I looked on the bbb site and there are on there as having been in business since 1990. Same address and phone number. I spoke with a jamie grant there at ex.619. He told my husband that we where approved for a 5000.00 loan but had to put down a deposit that would be applied to my loan. They said that they needed collateral because of our credit. That it was not a fee that it would go to paying off the loan and that we would not have any payments until january 2010. BBB said they where investigating them not because they received calls about people not receiving there money but from people inquiring about the business because they where asking for money up front. I dont know what to do. I was going to borrow the money from my sister in law and pay her back because me and my husband really need the money but dont want to be screwed out of $775 and then have to find a way to pay my sister back. Someone please help. I wish there was someone that could go there and see if they really are located where they say they are and they are legite.
Nicole – don’t do it. These unethical people are preying on consumers that are so desperate for money that they find any way they can to scrape up money upfront in the hopes that they’ll get a quick loan. They’ll take your money and run! You can read a ton of horror stories in the credit.com loan scam forum and it’s heart wrenching. If they want money upfront, something’s fishy.
I went to http://www.loanunion.net and I have had several calls from an unknown number and no messages have been left. I am glad I found this site.
I was contacted on 6/19/09 from Scott Granger (800-627-6189 ext 519). They would be more than happy to lend $15,000 at a rate of 7%. Just need a security deposit of $1849.88. Of course the BBB and reverse phone look up will not come up with anything. However, I intend to report them. People who really need money should not have to loose more money. These are the people who should not be victimized.
Beware of Silverfield Financial!!!!
Thank goodness I found this site before I went to a money gram today. Get this I applied online for an 8000 personal loan and I have bad to horrible credit. This guy named BRADLEY MOORE, had left me a message saying that he great news that I can secure my loan with a 1230.00 down payment up front which is 5 months of payments and have the money wired to Canada to a different person named Sharon Barot. He also tells me to verify the receipt with him once I get it. So this raised a red flag with me. So I did my own investigation and called there customer service. What a surprise it was the same guy with a different name. He didn’t great himself like before. I ask for his name and he gave me Paul. No doubt it was the same guy as Bradly Moore. I asked for a mailing address and he gave me the same one on the fax coversheet. I confronted him that the addres does not exist on mapquest’s website. He says he’s been doing business for 19 years. I asked for the website as well and he gave me “WestonLending.net” I later found this website and compared “WestonLending.net” and “Loanunion.net” to my surprise it was the same format with the same FAQ page. Here’s the info I have on this scam: phone#: 1-888-416-7276 ext 561 fax: 1-314-334-0983 address: 13610 Barrett Office Drive Saint Louis, MO 63121 account rep: Bradly Moore. The address doesn’t exist in mapquest; same guy answered as the customer service rep. SCAM! I even tried about 80 different extensions. These people are praying on good people like you an I, we work hard to make ends meet. There has to be a way to stop this and put these people in jail. What can we DO?
I just spoke to a David Penn (1-800-672-6189 ext439) from Silverfield financial, who said I was fully approved for $10,000 at a rate of 6.7% and needed a security depoist of $1673.00. So I looked them up right now to find out they are a scam, before I lost my money to move into my apartment tomorrow, which was all the money I had.
Watch out for Weston Lending Group….SCAM!
Need to know more about Weston Lending Group, before I make a loan.
You can add First American Lenders to the list as well. I talked to a guy named John Walker, who barely spoke above a whiisper, he said that they could loan me the money, of course, I would have to make the first 5 dwon payments as collateral.(If you are looking for an unsecured loan, that means that you don’t put down any collateral, cash or otherwise) Therefore, i know that this is not a legit company. Anytime a company wants you to wire money to them, you may as well flush it down the toilet.
thanks a lot I was about to do that they call me for a loan for 8,000 and they waned me to send 1230.25
there is several number including
215 945 7500 that number is for pennsylvania
another name for the organization is AMERICAN GENERAL CORP
AND LOAN FAST.COM 1800 243 6669
Thank goodness that I found this site before I actually did anything! I was given all of the same info that I am reading about. I can’t believe that I almost actually fell for this. Yes, I do not have the best credit and I was looking for a way to help my situation, but this is truly not it! Thanks!
thanks for the info sounded to good to be true!! Milton Lending Services was the name they gave me which i could not find anywhere.
I too, have received a call from Scott Granger stating that I had been fully approved for a $5,000 loan on 7/6/09. He left a phone number to return his call at 800-627-6189 ext. 519. When he called, another number showed up.800-965-8042. When I called that number back, I found out it was a car dealership called drivetime. I had put in an application with them also. Please be aware of your personal information that you submit on the internet and to whom!!
what about Carlingview Financial Services
500 Griswold street, Detroit,MI 48223 , part of loanunion.net
Yes i was contacted by Loan union from a hampton financial. I spoke to a guy who said i was approved for a $60,000 loan all i had to pay was a down payment which consent of 5 payments of $535 and my first payment will come in January 2010.
i am so glad my sister found this link and researched it before i sent the money in.
Apparently they now go under “Milton Lending Services” as well as that was who contacted me after filling out the app on loanunion.net. Same deal – wanted roughly $800 up front to ‘secure’ a $5000 loan.
Eastwood Financial Services, they have the same set up. I got approved for $10K, however the paperwork says “The borrower is required to make 9 monthly payments in the amount of $145.73 USD totaling the sum of $1,311.57 USD. The entire sum of this collateral payment will be appliced directly to the principal of this loan and will not act as a fee in any way. In accordance to the laws of New York.
Look out folks because they sound real convincing on the telephone.
They are also going under Castlefield Lending Group. see http://www.castlefieldlending.com. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY.
I am so glad I looked on this site today. I am very desperate for money and I was about to fall into this trap. Thank you.
I got a call from Bay point Lending Group saying I was approved ffor 15,000. They told me I need to send them 1,182.72 to secure my loan as collatteral. I need this money for college so I want to know if this is a scam.
I applied for a home loan through Loanunion.net, and when I entered the SUBMIT button, I lost the connection. I will not pursue them, now that I know what the deal is. I checked online for their IP address through IPaddress.com-IPTracer and Locator. Loanunion’s server is located in San Diego, and their ISP account was with Abacus America. Their registration was through GoDaddy.com, and their registration is set to expire. Hope this information helps those seeking their location.
OMG! I nearly fell for this company that I found on the site called loanunion.net. I applied on the internet for a $5,000 loan and I got a call the next day from a guy named Greg Warren who claims that I was approved for a $5,000 loan. I fell for it with him telling me that my interest rate was at 7% and that I needed to send them 5 mo. payment upfront of $155 and that my 1st payment was not due until Feb. 1, 2010. I started to send the collateral he asked me to send to someone in Canada; at that point I knew this was totally a SCAM!!!!!!
watch out for first charter finance. same scam.
they are using the logo of a legit company so it is very confusing. http://www.firstcharterfinance.com
Thank God I saw this page.
Same MO, but I applied through Loan Union and was contacted by David Clarke of “Kenworth Lending Group”. They wanted $1440 for my $9000 loan.
What a heartless crook. I hope there’s a special wing in hell built just for the guy running this scam. Better luck to the rest of you…I know I’m certainly on my guard now.
I have been recently scammed by Donway Financial Services via Loanunion.net. I’m not going to sit back and wait. I’m doing everything I can to get a class action suit brought against. I need the support of other consumers who’ve been victimized. Contact me at dustigardner@embarqmail.com
I applied & got a call from Larry Brooks of Midway Lending with a similar deal 8% on a $9000 loan as long as I could forward $1200 collateral. I was suspicious because 1st off 8% is a good rate & how is my money going to be Coll. for them giving me money. The whole deal didn’t make sense, so be for warned of Midway Lending Co. 1-866-331-6025 Ext. 361
please check Zancor Loan Cenetr.they called and told me i was approved for 5000.then thay needed 900+ sent western union to complete the loan.there address is 3196 kraft ave.grand rapids,mi. probably no good.web is zancor loan center.com phone 1-877-495-6250.Thanks
Thank God for this site because I was about to fall for this scam, they call themself Beckford Financial, God is good would not let me stop looking until i found this site.
Are they also affiliated with Freemont Financial Services? I was approved for $12,000 loan for college, but the want 6 months in advance. That is 1756.00.
Thanks
I also filled out an application through Loan Union and got a call from a David Watkins of United Trust Financial Services 1-877-826-8579 ext-219. I had applied for a 20,000 loan and was told I needed to send 2,336.00 for collateral and would not have a payment for 8 months. I told him I didn’t have that much money and he said he would keep the file open for a week.
the lender i wasgonnna send money to was united trustfinancial services out of tampa florida .i was dealing with a adam hayes at aphone number of 1-877-826-8579 ext 374 .does anybody know if this is a scam or not?
can you look in to Zancor lending center, i got offered a loan and want to know if it’s for real.
Thanks for the comments concerning loan union.I was about to sign the application, but before I did that I had asked them questions.Guess what they didn’t respond for two days so something was up.I even made a copy of the home page thinking that they were legit and to get back in touch with them. What a waste of 10 cents.Thank god I came to my senses to check them out first. Also be aware of another loan scam I’ve just checked out-SALAVTORE LENDING GROUP.
I also went to loan union and got a call saying I was approved for 5000 and I needed to make the first 5 payments after that my money would be sent to me. The loan was through Zancor. I am glad I looked up info before sending money.
We received a phone call about being approved for a loan with Zancor to purchase a home. They want us to send them three forms of ID including drivers license, ss card and last paystub. They also want bank info to do a direct deposit of check. They stated that they want 6 payments upfront and that we won’t make our first payment for 6 months. This does not feel right. Is this a scam??
If you talk to the Men on the phones at Zancor they are extremely serious with little personality. Not fun to do business with. I sent in one payment of 926 dollars then they wanted a second payment. Something felt wrong So I didnt send it in. There is no one using the building where they have there address listed. I think its a bad deal, cant say for sure…KAM
Now them same people scamming from Westshore lending services. this time it’s $800 for $5000.
i had the same thing happen to me a memeber from a “company” called umbra loan services told me that i was approved for a $5000 loan for an upfront fee of 800 which made no sense to me because why would i be borrowing money if i wanted to just hand out money… glad i didnt.
Well after several days of debate and research I am so glad I found this forum. I was contacted by a Union Financial Services their website is unionfinancialfirm.net. Offered $5000.00 at rate of 7% only catch was they require 1250.00 “security verification” in other words they wanted me to pay 1250 to get the loan. According to Christopher Newman the CS rep I would pay that amount and they would put it into an account and after my third ontime loan payment it would be refunded. I searched endlessly for info online about them with no luck, they were not listed on BBB. I finally came across this forum thank goodness.. i just knew something wasn’t right with this.. too good to be true. The rep that I spoke with was Christopher Newman 1-800-960-7374 ext.4 I found the dial in to to be a little strange so when I was trying to find out more about them I called and dialed other extension.. 1,2,3,4 so on.. it appears ext. 4 is the only extension at this number. After reading here I now have no doubt this is a scam. I wonder how many people they’ve actually ripped off?
The same thing is happening with a “company” called eastrock lending!!! I applied on loanunion.net and got a call back from an UNKNOWN number and was APPROVED for 15,000.00!!! If only I’d send them 1516.27 in advance. I never gave them my ssn or anything!!! and I have reported them on the ftc website http://ftc.gov/ I would suggest you all do the same. As far as I can find it is the best chance we have to stop these people REPORT REPORT REPORT anywhere and everywhere you can find to report and/ or out them DO IT!
I was contacted by a group called “Chase Financial Group” about 3 years ago saying the same thing. I lost out on $1500. I didn’t get anything from them and ended up having to file bankruptcy so when I was contacted by Able Trust this whole thing sounded familiar. I let her talk and talk about this that and the other but in my head I was wishing there was something I could do to get back at these people for preying on good people in bad situations.
I had the same situation as everyone else, but I unfortunately fell for it. When I tried to do my research, there was nothing listed yet. I was scammed by Zancor Loan Center. They turned a bad situation for me into an even worst one. This company will make you think that they are doing everything to help you. They really make you believe that if you sent the money, you will get the $5000 within 6 hours, but that is only after you send them $926. Once they get that, they call you and say that because your credit is bad, they need an additional 6 months of payments, which means no payments for 1 year. Then once the second $926 is sent, they said the company needed taxes of $650, which the guy said it never happened before, because the guy guaranteed me that no additional money could be requested. So when I asked for my money back I was told that it would take 30 days, but they would send it back in about 15 days along with $300 compensation. So on the day that the money was promised, I called the company to find out why I didn’t receive it. I was told that I would get it some time that day. I called again at the end of day and was told that a check was mailed to me. Then the guy got nasty with me when I asked him why he didn’t tell me that the check was being mailed in the first place. He kept telling me to mail the check back when I got it. I really didn’t understand why he was getting an attitude with me when they were the ones scamming me for my money. It just didn’t make any sense. This was two weeks ago. I have been calling and once I leave my name, I get the answering machine.
YES A WOMAN LINDA SANDERS AT 1-877-481-9880 EXT. 622 SAID SHE NEEDED A DEPOSIT OF 8 MONTHS OF PAYMENTS ON A 5;000 LOAN TRIED TO RIP ME OFF ON MY SONS THIRD BIRTHDAY HOW DO THESE PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH THIS?
Gal I work with was hit also. The company that tried the rip off was Cedarwood Equity Group, Frederick Newman CEO, Frederick J. Marshall Account Rep. They wanted a grand up front money. They wanted it wired by Western Union to Canada. The address on their paperwork had them at 400 Market Street in Philadelphia. Phone number 877 643 8074 ext 388, fax number 267 284 0437. I called another tenant at the same address and they said there was no business by that name there, that they could tell. http://www.callferret.com/area-codes/877-area-code.html had some interesting comments about this also.
Another one is Union City financial. Same type of scam. They call you and leave you a message of “We have great news for you” as if they found some type of loophole so as to get you the loan you are interested in. You can only loan in $5,000 increments. No less than $10,000 no more than $15,000. WOW, thanks alot, you people are great, what’s that? you need how much? $1,900 before you can wire me my money, and I don’t have any loan payments until April? What a deal,I am soooo lucky to find your bank, what’s that? my credit was not good enough for your bank to back the loan but you helped me out by finding the kind bank that would take me under their wing. WHILE THEY FLY AWAY WITH MY MONEY!
I want to know about a loan companynamed Bardley Lending Group out of New York, New York and they want to loan me 5000.00 dollars with a collateral payment of 800.00 I got contracts they wanted My ss#,drivers licence and a copy of my pay stubs from work. what Do I do ?
This SCAM is also operating under the name Sun Life Financal in Florida. I feel for this scam and ended up loosing over a 1000 dollars trying to get this loan. They first told me that I would have to send 472 dollar or the title to my car. I sent them the money then they wanted more money I sent that. Then they wanted more thats when i caught on and told them i wanted my money refunded. They now keep giving me a run around about getting my money back. So I have made a report with the Sherriffs department. But I still out the money.
you can add a company callred Firstar lending in Florida and Greco Investment Capital in New York to aa long list of up front money scams.
I was contacted by a Christopher Newman who said I was approved for a $5000 loan. Faxed me papers to sign and website looked legit. Wanted a security deposit since my credit isn’t the best. $500 deposit to show I can make my payments. Dummy that I am didn’t come across this site until it was too late. Said my money was 100% refundable but will have to mail back the payment. These people are sick individuals who prey on innocent people. I have contacted the Federal Bureau so no one else will get scammed. Bye bye money!
Cashland FinancialServices, Looked legite, phone number everthing sounded all true
I tried to apply for a personal loan, got a email saying that i was approved for a 10,000 and for me to call the office as i had 3 options to choose to get my loan 1.was to get a co-signer 2.if i had any property, and the 3rd one was to send 849.00 for insurance, I told the lady Cathy Blair that i didnt have either 2 and that i also didnt have 849.00 to send for insurance, she said once they receive your payment they will release the funds immeditaly, I was skeptictal and also found out that to get a loan whether bad credit or not you dont have to pay anything up front they add it to the loan amount or deduct it from it, at first i thought it was legite cause she sent me a email saying to call this number they have a recorded message that says welcome to cashland financial services if you know your parties extion enter it now! I thought everything was legitimate called and did what i had to do then she said i had to pay thats when i thought i would look more into it! so dont send anymoney to cashland financial servies I have sent her emails asking to take the money off the loan and have not received any replies
Another company scam? Hazelton Financial, at hazeltonfinancial.org These “fake” companies take on names of well known companies or places to make you think they are legitimate. It is really eye-opening to realize how easy it is to lose money and have no easy way to get it back. Hazelton Financial claimed that I had applied for a $5,000 loan, for which I was approved, that the loan rate was 6%! (too good to be true) and that I had to pay the first four payments upfront. Makes me wonder if I should start my own fake financial company? I could create a website that would at least not contain spelling or grammatical errors! and unlike the scam, I might make it a Ponzi scheme and pay back some of the borrowers a little at a time.
Does anyone know if Financial USA Services in Calfornia is a scammer. PLEASE HELP!!!!
