Free Debt Help August 30, 2010 at 6:27 PM

I’m glad you guys wrote about this. I actually had an incident a few months back where I had a mysterious charge in China for $1,100 on my debit card. It turned out that some scammers had gotten a hold of my debit card info when at the gas pump when I swiped my card at the local Chevron.
Turns out they had some sort of technology that could get my Debit card info that way. I had to call my bank and dispute the charges and they reversed them for me because they could see that I was making charges locally in the United States right around the time the charge in China took place.
I bring this up because as in this case, you can’t always call the Merchant. So I had to call my Bank/Credit Card company immediately to resolve the issue.
