Among the new offers Citi will roll out as part of its holiday promotions is a sweepstakes for consumers to win prepaid cards when they make purchases with the company's branded credit cards through December 31, the company announced. Cardholders can win cards worth between $10 and $10,000 after registering for the contest on the lender's website.
In addition, Citi will introduce a "Specials" program that will provide cardholders deals on shopping, travel and other purchases, the report said. This promotion will include discounts on select purchases, local coupons and even free shipping options for products purchased online. There will also be some Super Specials that will grant consumers discounts of up to 60 percent off certain items.
Many consumers, however, are attempting to avoid taking on more credit card debt this holiday season, and will instead rely on debit or cash to make most or all of their purchases.
