I have a recent bankruptcy, a few months ago, and have tried to get a personal loan of $2000 but haven't had any luck. I've tried a couple financial places and my bank but no one could do anything because of the bankruptcy. I just need the money for my mother to send her back home to Greece for a month, since her father passed away. My credit before the bankruptcy was good and my payments were always on time. I just had some unexpected problems come up that caused me to file. I've been at my job for about 7 years now and make just about $3000 a month but can't find anyone to help me out. Is it even possible to get a loan after a recent bankruptcy or am I just wasting my time? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankstesttest

It's probably not realistic to expect to get a loan if you just filed bankruptcy a few months ago. Lenders view bankruptcy as a major red flag and the more recent, the less likely they are to take the risk in extending the loan. It's going to take time for you to re-establish and rebuild your credit a bit. Also, continuing to apply for loans along with a very recent bankruptcy is probably hurting your scores even more.

Traditional lending probably isn't an option for you right now. Have you thought about trying one of the peer-to-peer lending services like Prosper, Lending Club, Pertuity Direct, etc.? If not, it might be something to look into. You can find out more about peer-to-peer lending here: What is peer-to-peer lending? testtest
