Credit.com launches Credit Report Card, Giving Consumers a New Level of Transparency into their Credit Scores
A Free Financial Literacy Tool Developed by Credit Industry Insiders
San Francisco, CA – September 28, 2009 – As millions of consumers struggle during these turbulent times, credit education and financial services company Credit.com will announce tomorrow at Finovate 2009 in New York the launch of its "Credit Report Card" (CRC), the first-ever truly free online credit scorecard that gives consumers a comprehensive view of their credit across a variety of the leading score models used in the market today. The CRC offers a simple and secure way for consumers to see where their credit stands without impacting their credit scores.
Based on decades of expert knowledge of the credit score industry, Credit.com developed this interactive tool to give consumers transparency into how credit impacts their financial lives and how they can better manage it. The CRC is the only credit scorecard that compares and contrasts consumers’ scores across different credit scoring models.
Once users have completed a secure form and their identities have been verified, the CRC produces an accurate real-time estimate of their credit with an easy-to-understand snapshot of their data along with grades and actionable feedback in each of the five main areas that make up their credit ratings. Credit.com then offers users insight into how they can better manage their credit on both a short and long-term basis.
“Your credit score has never been more critical than now. Most consumers misunderstand credit basics, and that lack of knowledge can be devastating,” said Credit.com Chairman and Co-Founder Adam Levin, who is a former Director of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. “Our ‘Credit Report Card’ not only helps consumers get a unique snapshot of their credit profiles, but also offers invaluable information in their journey to strengthen their overall financial situation.”
“This tool clearly shows how lenders, landlords, and others view consumer credit in an easy-to-read format,” adds Credit.com President of Consumer Education John Ulzheimer, formerly of Fair Isaac and Equifax. “For the first time, consumers can now clearly understand how they compare across multiple credit score products for free with no strings attached.”
