I was notified that I would be placed on a 3 month trial period on 9/23/09. The first payment was unfortunately due on 10/1/09. I had just made my last full mortgage payment of over $2200 on 9/1/09. I was laid off on 6/30/09 and I was down to my last $2800 on 9/1/09, and I sent the $2200 to pay the mortgage. I make enough with my part time job to make the new payments of 1217.27 during the trial, but the short notice on 9/23/09 didn't give us enough time to adjust to the new payments. Fortunately we were able to squeeze out the first payment on 10/1/09, but we will not be able to send out the 2nd payment due on 11/1/09 until 11/5/09. Also, my wife was given a one time grant through the hosptial (woman surviving breast cancer fund) of $1000. It will be sent to our mortgage company no later the middle of November. We will pay the difference of 217.27 which will have us making our last payment due 12/1/09 almost two weeks early. Does anyone know if we will be dropped from the program for making our Nov payment 4 days late? Any similiar experiences ourthere? We are so nervous!!!

Your stress must be unbelievable. On the website it clearly states:

Borrowers who are unable to make three payments by the end of the trial period are not eligible for a modification under HAMP. However, you may be eligible for other foreclosure prevention options offered by your servicer.

I would recommend you start looking at what other options may be available now, rather than just hoping for the best. You can talk with your mortgage company and/or call the Hope Hotline at 1-888-995-HOPE.
