[b]Fake lender website:[/b] citidif.com (according to the [b]domain registry[/b], this site was only created March 19th)
[b]Fake lender contact:[/b] Sarah McDonald
[b]Fake investor network:[/b] National Angel Organization Angel Investor Network. Third Party Lender/Angel Investor. angel-investor-network.com. National Angel Organization Angel Investor of New York.

My husband I were a victim of this scam! They got 2000 dollars from us. These people need to be taken down! DO NOT GO TO THEM... Heres the story. They called us saying they approved us for a loan. But before we could receive the loan they told us we needed to make a collateral payment of 1400 dollars and a insurance payment of 600. I know sometime when you get a home loan they make you do down payments and things so we went ahead and did it. Well come to find out the minute the received the money they called us back and told us they would direct deposit our money immediately. Well after 2 hours passed and it was not showing up I called and called. NO ANSWER! So i called and said my name really fast and they miss understood it as Kailee. They called back immediately. I told them that I was Haley Franz and that I had caught them as being a scam. Shes like ma'am I do not understand we are not a scam all we need is 400 more dollars and and you will have your money. I simply laughed and said well im on my way to the police station. I would really like to know if anyone else has been affected by the company. Please let me know! Also the names involved in this scam were lenny brooks, tracy mays, and martha reynolds..

SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME AND MY HUSBAND! YOUR NOT ALONE!! WE REPORTED IT TO THE FBI!

They told us we were approved for 8,000 and that we only needed pay $1200 for insurance or the $860 which was the first 6 months up front. We sent them the $840 dollars that we borrowed from family because we obvioulsy needed a loan...we didnt have that much money... and within 2 hours they were suppose to deposit the money. NOHTING! Called and called and called....NO ANSWER! Finally get ahold of them and they need and additional $400 to release the funds...HAHAHA! Thats funny! They said our credit score...that they never ran..."magically"(< they actually said that) went down and they needed more money. Well obvioulsy they ARE SCAMMERS! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!! Tracy Mays, Martha Reynolds, and Joshua Sanford all FAKES! It is just unbeleivable how some people live with themselves....but what goes around comes around.......

i got scammed by this so called company. i was in real bad need of money that time for my mother's medical bills. i got a call from this place and it was TRACY MAYS. she told me that i got approved for my loan of 7000. then she told me i needed a 840 collateral and it willpay for 5 mos i think. she even sent me my loan documnets that i need to sign. so i went ahead and sent the money to an EDDIE CRAWFORD. couple hours later i got a call from a girl name MICHELLE and said that i needed to send them 500 more. if not they will just send me my refund. so once again i sent the 500 for insurance apparently. to the same person. they said everything was good. and i will receive the money in my bank account in about 2 hrs. same with you guys i called and called and called no answer. im pretty much in more debt than i was that time. i had a bad feeling about it even when i sent the money reading the money gram sign over at walmart. but i still did it. i felt horrible. they will definitely get what they deserve. taking advantage of people like me who are in desperate need of money. to everybody out there be careful..

Does anyone know if CITIZEN DIRECT FUNDING in NY is related in any way to CITIZEN DIRECT HOME LOANS in Brea, CA.? With all the similar names, I would hate to not use a legit company just because a scammer uses a similar name.

I will call the closest BBB in Brea and see if they have had complaints and how long they have been around....hopefully that will help.

THANKS GERRI FOR THE INFO. I CALLED "CLEAR PATH LENDING" AND TOLD THEM THAT I FOUND OUT THAT THEIR COMPANY IS A FRAUD. HOPE, ADVISED ME THAT THEY ARE NOT A FRAUD AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN DOING BUSINESS FOR OVER 25 YEARS. I ADVISED HER THAT I HAVE A UNCLE WHO WORKS FOR THE ATTORNEY'S GENERAL OFFICE AND IF I SEND MY MONEY TO THEM AND THEY DO NOT GIVE ME THE MONEY THEY PROMIED AS AGREEDED, THAT I WILL GO TO THEM HAVE THEM TAKEN DOWN. SHE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE AFRAID BUT KEPT INSISTING THAT THEY ARE LEGIT AND THAT THEY CAN BE FOUND IN THE YELLOW PAGES(WHICH I DID FIND IN YELLOWPAGES.COM). I TOLD HER THAT I CHECKED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THERE WAS NO INFORMATION ON THEM. SHE EXPLAINED THAT IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING WRONG TO BE POSTED WITH THE BBB. HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH THIS AND WHAT CAN I DO LEGALLY TO STOP THEM FROM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OTHER PEOPLE. CAN I CONTACT THE FBI? THIS MUST BE A FEDERAL CRIME?

I don't think the FBI will be interested as a crime has not occurred. However, you may want to report your experience to your State Attorney General as well as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC.gov). And the fact that you have posted it here is helpful as well.

Just glad you didn't lose your money!

Please do no confuse us with this company; we would really appreciated not paying for the sins of others. If you would like to check us out I have pasted our Better Business link below (we have an "A" rating) and ONLY make mortgage loans; we DO NOT collect money up front for ANY purpose other than ording an appraisal and even than the appraisal company (HVCC Service) which is now governing the industry is the entity that actually takes the payment for Appaisals.
