According to a report in the Courier-Post, 172 nursing students who attend Camden County College's Blackwood campus found out that their federal loan and grant money, which they used to pay for tuition, had been voided. This was the result of their college's school of nursing falling out of federal compliance after it altered its curriculum.
The report said that several students have begun taking out personal loans to pay for their education while they await more information from the school, which it says it can deliver by September 7. The school has told the future nurses that it will work to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Consumers may take out personal loans for a number of reasons, from helping to augment student loans to paying off their other debt in an attempt to consolidate their monthly payments.
