Find a Top Realtor

In George Orwell’s spoof of communism, Animal Farm, the ruling pig Napoleon winds up living the good life as the animals living beneath him suffer. He justifies his largesse by saying “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

The residential real estate companies would have you believe that all real estate agents are equal, too. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, there are some agents who will tell you anything to get you to make a deal. Those agents are the reason why most surveys rank real estate agents right above used car salesmen at the bottom of the list of professionals to be trusted.

At the other end of the spectrum are top realtors, who absolutely love taking care of their clients. While many agents have left the business, the good ones are still out there. Right in your neighborhood there are probably a few terrific agents who have some extra time and are looking for clients just like you.

Your job is to find the agent who best suits your interests. If you are lucky, you’ll get terrific representation and, perhaps, a friend for life.

Step 1: Choose a good realtor
A top Realtor is one who puts your interests before his or her own, and has the experience and know-how to get you the home that best suits your needs for the best deal possible.

Step 2: Search for a home
The home search is an important aspect of the home buying process – getting a feel for price ranges and availability in the neighborhood(s) you are looking in, learning about new neighborhoods, and fine tuning your list of criteria for a potential home is a must when you are getting ready to buy.
