Randy Johnson is President of Independence Mortgage Company. He received
a BA from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and an MBA from Stanford
University where he was President of the Business School's Student Association.
Established in 1983, Independence Mortgage Company provides mortgage brokerage, real estate consulting and financial services to clients in Orange County. Since its inception, the company has financed over $800,000,000 in property with over 3,500 clients. In addition, the company engages in real estate transactions. Randy also appears as an Expert Witness in legal matters relating to real estate financing.
Active in community affairs, he was President of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra from 1989 to 1992, Chairman of the Board from 1992 to 1994, and was recently elected to the position of President Emeritus, a new position created to honor his contributions to the Symphony. He was Chairman of the Orange County Roundtable, served on the Board of Trustees of the Laguna Art Museum, and was a founder of the Newport Taxpayers Alliance. In addition, he has been a fund-raiser for South Coast Repertory Theatre, The Boys and Girls Club of Irvine, and the Alzheimers Association of Orange County.
He is the author of the best-selling book on mortgage lending, HOW TO SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON YOUR HOME MORTGAGE, published in 1998 by John Wiley & Sons. The second edition was published in August 2002. His second book, HOW TO FIND A HOME AND GET A MORTGAGE ON THE INTERNET was published in November 2000. He is also a frequent contributor to magazines, newspapers, and at various Internet websites. His newspaper column, The Savvy Borrower, is syndicated through Freedom Link.
