Whether you’re in the market for a credit card that offers cash back rewards, balance transfers or student benefits, Citi likely has some plastic designed with you in mind. While Citi’s credit cards can provide great value for the average consumer, the right card for you depends on your specific needs. (Full Disclosure: Citibank advertises on Credit.com, but that results in no preferential editorial treatment.)

How to Get a Citi Credit Card

All the Citi card options on this list require a credit score ranging from good to excellent. Because of this, it’s a good idea to see where your credit stands before applying for any card. You can see two of your credit scores for free on Credit.com. (Note: Reviewing your own credit will not harm your scores.)

If you discover your scores aren’t where you need them to be to get the card you’re craving, you may want to work on fixing your credit before applying — you can do things like pay down existing credit card balances and dispute errors on your credit report before you apply. Credit card applications can be submitted online and you can check your application status by phone.

Citi Credit Card Benefits

Of course, the perks you get with your Citi credit card varies from card to card, but there are a couple that come standard with every card on this list.

Worldwide Car Rental Insurance: When paying for your car rental with your Citi card, Citi provides additional insurance against theft or damage.

Extended Warranty: Citi extends manufacturer warranties for purchases made on your Citi card — the details range between cards, but all cards on this list have a version of this feature.

Other offered benefits include travel perks, shopping rewards, account protection and dining and entertainment perks. As we mentioned, the details of all these can vary between cards, so be sure to check the card statement for the full terms and conditions when you apply.

With that said, here are our top picks for Citi credit cards.

They also offer 3% cash back on restaurant and eligible travel purchases, 2% cash back on in-store and online Costco purchases and 1% cash back on all remaining purchases. The variable APR will be 16.99%. There is no annual fee for this card, as it’s paired with your Costco membership (which does require a fee).

Citi Simplicity® Card – No Late Fees Ever

Why We Picked It: As its name suggests, the Citi Simplicity Card is appealing for its simple and straightforward features. There are fewer traditional fees to worry about and the balance transfer offer is one of the best available.
