Salt Lamp Obsession Drives Floridian into Debt

Himalayan salt lamps are massively popular decorative blocks of pink salt with a light bulb fit inside. They can be found for sale in a whole slew of places from the American Museum of Natural History gift shop to Gwyneth Paltrow’s pseudoscience mecca Goop. Frankly, they’re everywhere.

One man in Florida took his love of salt lamps, some would say, too far. Jim Roberts has been featured on TLC’s television show, My Strange Addiction. Roberts has purchased over 2,700 salt lamps. These lamps are over taking his living quarters and worst of all ruining his credit. He has spent over $20,000 on his obsession. Now Roberts has battle his way out of debt.
