The Capital One Spark Cash Select credit card is a good match for business owners (generally small business owners) looking for a cash back rewards card with no annual fees. Additional points if you travel often and can take advantage of not having to pay foreign transaction fees.
It’s a little confusing, but Capital One has broken out the card into two different offers: card_name, and the card_name. Each have different welcome bonuses as well as different APR rates, however both offer $0 annual fee and no foreign transaction charges, as well as a flat 1.5% cash back rate on all purchases.
Here’s a comparison view of the two cards:

*This one-time bonus is available by clicking the “Learn How to Apply” button on this page, and may not be available if you navigate away from or close this page. The bonus may not be available for existing or previous Spark cardholders.
Although the regular APR on the cards differs slightly (although it could overlap, depending on your creditworthiness) the two main differences between the cards are their welcome bonuses and intro APR.
Whichever card you choose (or are able to qualify for) comes down to what welcome bonus you’re wanting.
Here are some additional benefits and drawbacks to consider for both cards.
One of the top benefits of the Capital One Spark Cash Select credit card is that it offers straightforward cash rewards. You can earn 1.5% on all purchases with no limits. This can be an excellent reward for small business owners who plan to use this credit card often. You can also earn special 5% cash back rewards when booking rental cars or hotel stays through Capital One Travel.
Cardholders also have access to a number of business-related perks, including no foreign exchange fees, integration with Quicken, QuickBooks and Excel, free employee cards with set spending limits and year-end itemized spending reports.
While the Capital One Spark Cash Select credit card offers a simple flat rate for its cash back, its 1.5% rate is lower than some other business credit card options. You may be able to find another business credit card that offers a much higher cash back rate in more specific spending categories – like travel or certain business expenses, for example.
However, the annual_fees annual fee is a nice offset.
Generally, a cash back card with a low flat rate is a good option when you aren’t sure what you’re going to be buying, and want to make sure you can continue to earn cash back on a wide variety of purchases.
Regardless of which option you choose or qualify for, the Capital One Spark Cash Select credit card is a good option for business owners looking for a basic cash back rewards card with no annual fees and decent business perks, including free employee cards and no foreign transaction fees.
It’s a no-fuss, no-frills no hassle kind of card that checks all the boxes that a business owner would need from a dedicated credit card.
It’s hard to definitively answer what the credit limits are for this card since Capital One doesn’t publish this information anywhere. We can tell you that Capital One bases credit limits on various factors, including credit scores and income levels.
Capital One periodically reviews accounts for credit limit increase eligibility. You can also request a credit limit increase. As with most cards, it’s likely that you’d have a better chance of approval if you wait at least 6 months to request an increase and have a good payment history.
The Capital One Spark Cash Select Card is not generally used as a credit-building credit card. Instead, you must already have good to excellent credit to qualify.
