Full Review of Capital One VentureOne Rewards

The Capital One VentureOne Rewards credit card is a travel rewards card available to those with excellent credit. You can earn mile rewards by making everyday purchases or by booking your travel plans through Capital One Travel.

What You’ll Like About This Card

No Annual Fee

The top benefit of the Capital One VentureOne Rewards credit card is the ability to earn travel rewards without paying an annual fee.

Travel Rewards

You can earn 1.25 miles per dollar on every purchase you make using your VentureOne Rewards credit card or 5 miles per dollar when booking any car rental or hotel reservations through Capital One Travel.

Bonus Miles

Another perk is the ability to earn bonus_miles_full. This is a significantly lower threshold than many other travel rewards cards. Your travel miles never expire as long as you maintain the account. You also have the freedom to transfer these miles to more than a dozen travel loyalty programs that partner with Capital One.

0% Introductory APR For The First 15 Months

If you plan to make many large purchases within the first year or transfer your balance from another credit card, the Capital One VentureOne Rewards credit card offers 0% introductory APR on purchases for the first 15 months, with an ongoing reg_apr,reg_apr_type APR after that. This benefit allows you to spread your payments over a longer period without facing higher interest rates.

Other Perks

In addition to travel rewards, this card comes with numerous perks, including $0 fraud liability, no foreign transaction fees, account alerts, price-drop protection, travel accident insurance and extended warranty on certain products. The card also gives you access to the Capital One Dining, Capital One Entertainment and Capital One Shopping portals.

The Drawbacks

Requires Excellent Credit

A major drawback of the VentureOne Reward credit card is it requires excellent credit. Under certain circumstances, you may be eligible for a VentureOne Rewards credit card with good credit, but you may face higher interest rates and a reduction of some benefits.

Lower Rewards

The card’s cash back rewards of 1.25 miles per dollar are also lower than some other card options. However, it comes with no category restrictions and no annual fees.

Some Perks Not Included

Additionally, the card doesn’t give you access to some other Capital One perks, such as the Capital One Lounge. Depending on your preferences and travel habits, not being able to use these lounge areas may prompt you to look for another card.
